Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. If you have any other questions then please feel to Contact me by phone or email.

Will you be unobtrusive when filming our wedding?
Absolutely! The last thing you want during your wedding day is contantly having a video camera stuck in your face. Also filming you and your guests in a descreet manner leads to more natural shots that truly capture the essence of your wedding day.
I can honestly say that after every wedding I've filmed the couples have commented in some way that they didn't recall seeing me much throughout the day.
An important point to add is that I do not use any additional lighting on my video camera, preferring instead to use the existing light. In this way you are not being distracted and/or blinded by spotlights.

When will we receive our wedding DVD?
You will receive your wedding video by recorded delivery within 4 weeks of your wedding. In practise however I usually try to deliver your video in time for the return from your honeymoon. To achieve this I take an address of a family member, friend or neighbour who can take delivery of your wedding DVDs and give them to you upon your return.

When do we pay?
I take a £100 deposit to secure my services on your wedding day. The final payment is taken two weeks prior to your wedding day.

How many copies of the DVD do we receive?
I obtain a license allowing me to use any music i wish in your wedding DVD; including church music, live bands and music taken from CDs. For a set fee the license allows me to make 3 copies of your DVD. If you require additional copies these can be supplied afterwards by special arrangement.

Can we chose the music used in the wedding video?
Music is very, very important in a wedding video and I spend a lot of time trying to get the 'right' piece of music to match the scene and your own individual personalities. What's right for one person isn't necessarily right for another.
Therefore any input you can put into chosing music is very helpful. In particular we need to chose music for:

  • Highlights Video
  • Arrival of the Bride
  • Signing of the Register
  • Departure of Bride & Groom
  • First Dance (also used on the wedding DVD menu)

How long will our wedding video be?
Generally speaking wedding DVD's are about 1.5 hours long, but this entirely depends upon what happens on your day, the length of the ceremony, speeches etc.

Can you do a shorter video for less money?
I'm sorry, but whilst I understand that wedding expenditure can spiral out of control, I cannot document your wedding day without being there for the whole day. I have done so in the past and feel that the final DVD suffers as a result.

I've found a company that will film my wedding for £500.
There are many wedding video companies... just search on the internet... the list is huge. But the quality of the work varies greatly and I would be concerned by anyone charging this amount.
I personally spend a whole day filming and a 6/7 days editing your wedding video. The attention to detail reflects in the price I charge.
